Summary:

Unfortunately for me, it seemed obvious I was going to have a receding hairline and bald spot when I was only in my early twenties. As you can imagine, this caused a lot of anxiety for me. I began frantically searching for some way to reverse my balding and maybe even grow some hair back. This led me to try herbal remedies, prescription medications, and even some downright strange stuff that I don’t even want to admit to! Eventually I stumbled upon Profollica.

My Profollica Experience

Before you begin reading my review, let me give you some words of caution. If you’re interested in trying this product, be skeptical about some of the reviews you read online. There are many people out there who will give you a very one-sided account of their experience with Profollica (for whatever reason). This doesn’t give you a very realistic assessment of the product and whether it might be worth it for you. I’ll try to remain as unbiased as possible and tell you objectively what I think of Profollica.

One of the reasons I decided to try Profollica was that it is made only with 100% natural ingredients. Some of the other products I tried had unwanted side effects (like itching, burning — even hair loss!), so I hoped that with a natural product these would be minimized. Profollica describes itself as reducing hair loss. So, my hope was that it would at least halt my receding hairline where it was and keep that bald spot from growing any bigger.

How Profollica Works

Although Profollica is made with all natural ingredients, these ingredients do the same thing that other, synthesized products do. Profollica contains ingredients that naturally block dihydrotestosterone, the hormone that contributes to male pattern baldness. Blocking DHT releases the inhibitory effect DHT has on hair follicles, allowing hair to grow again. The DHT blockers are found in a topical gel that you put onto your head.

Profollica treatment also consists of taking vitamins that are specially designed to reduce hair loss. The concept is that the topical gel will block DHT and then the vitamin treatment will further stimulate hair growth.

How it Worked for Me

So now for the part everyone has been waiting for: the results. At first, I was a little disappointed with Profollica. I guess I should say that I was a little impatient. After trying a number of other baldness “cures” and having no success, when I didn’t see immediate improvements with Profollica, I assumed this would be another failed attempt. However, after about 10 weeks, I started to notice some changes.

First, I should note that I didn’t experience any further hair loss in those 10 weeks. So, while I was being impatient I was actually seeing the result I had hoped for, it just wasn’t obvious to me. At around 10 weeks, however, I took pictures to compare to my “before treatment” pic (I’ve gotten in the habit of obsessively documenting every attempt at curing my baldness I make). I was amazed when I saw that I had actually experienced some hair regrowth! It wasn’t drastic yet, but it was clear that I had some new hair growth around my hairline, and my bald spot had darkened a bit.

At this point, I’ve been using Profollica for almost two years, and I would consider my results pretty amazing. Profollica has stopped me from losing any more hair, and actually reversed about 50% of the hair loss I already had. To be fair, my hair loss was not severe. I had definitely lost some, but I’m still only in my late twenties, so even though my hair loss started early I don’t think it had reached its highest point yet. Still, I can’t imagine why Profollica wouldn’t help someone who was in a worse situation than I.

The Negatives

Since I promised to be nonbiased, I want to make sure I mention some negatives. The first was that it takes some patience to wait to see the results. However, 10 weeks doesn’t seem like much when you put it in perspective. Also, of course the product is not free. For me, though, I was already spending a great deal on various other products. So, I’m happy to pay for Profollica because it works.

Conclusion

All in all, I had a positive experience with Profollica. I think for those of you out there who are looking for a baldness prevention treatment, it certainly is worth a shot.
